Movies by Jacques Tati are all very visual and the usage of dialogue and music is very minimal. That's why this is not a remixed soundtrack. It's more like the opposite: Mr. Untel uses snippets of melody and dialogue of Tati movies to create his own soundtrack. And that's the problem of this release! When you leave out those samples, all what's left is a collection of mediocre beats and boring rhythms. I really enjoy watching Tati movies over and over again. This record only reminds me to put out the garbage can once a week. Avoid.

You're right with Tati's films being very visual in the first place, so remixing their soundtracks might not be the most obvious thing to do, yes. But Mr Untel does a great job trying to acoustically recreate Tati's world nonetheless. Using only snippets of melody and dialogue isn't really something unusual these days. This is post-modern turntablism sampling art, like it or not. Talking of what it would sound like without the samples is like looking at green saying: Take out the yellow and it's blue. And yes, this absolutely is a remixed soundtrack. Whatever else?
