I picked this up in 1990 for 25 pence! Or I should say some DJ swapped it for a record that cost me 25 pence! I was DJing at a party where this guy was also playing, and he told me he loved a tune I played earlier, one that I'd picked up in Tower Records where I worked, called "JT Company ‎– Don't Deal With Us", an Italo banger, a great tune, but easily available for 25p in Tower! I was just about to tell him there were hundreds of copies there when he put on one of the Holy Grails of acid/techno, the grey vinyl single sided "The Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu ‎– It's Grim Up North (Original Club Mix)" and I was so taken aback I forgot to tell him about the JT tune! It was the first time I'd even seen one of these mythic records, impossible to obtain for love nor money at the time. I was even more taken aback when he suggested a swap for the JT company tune! Needless to say I never told him about the hundreds of copies for sale in the open 24 hour Tower Records store just round the corner from where we were playing! Sometime fate just goes your way!

Sasha said in his interview at DJMag in 2016 that this record is the most valuable in his 50k record collection. Quote "...a one-sided grey piece of vinyl with nothing on it, no note or anything..." I think he was talking about this one.

This is most definitely one of the best techno/acid tracks ever made. I played the shit out of it in the early 90's and it would just destroy the place ! It's one of a series of special mixes the K.L.F./J.A.M.M.S. put out in limited amounts that were only sent to DJ's on their mailing list. If you see one for sale and you can afford it then grab it quickly !

one of the rarest tracks from the early 90's , only 350 made , and thankfully never bootlegged . this grey vinyl version without labels is totally different to all other versions . to hear this played full volume in a club is an incredible experience especially if you are having an err 'enhanced' night ?!! lol . compeltely different to all other tracks out there at the time , this is a virtual journey along the M62 motorway in northern england - a bit like the KLF's concept lp chillout wa a virtual road trip accross america . i never knew the vocal was pete wylie tho , he sounds more manchester accented on this record than liverpool where he is from ? strange . it is a holy grail of uk warehouse acid house encapsulating the illegal rave feel of those northen parties in abandoned warehouses and fields around the M62 locality . with its pounding reverbed warehouse kick , and sirens type noises which vaguely resemble old blackburn mills 'clocking off' sirens and a vocal which is different to the scottish accented commercial remixes , this stands the test of time . its going to cost a lot of money to acquire and original probs about £250 , but surely worth it . sasha had the vision and balls to play this when half the north was listening to ital style piano happy house and regularly used to drop this at his gigs at the time ie shellys in stoke and totally destroy the venue . amazing !

the original ARTIST decides who manufactures their music , not you . they choose not to make a shifty quick £$ . infact they once burnt a million £ so the story goes . thank god people like this are in the minority . anyway back to itunes hey lol ..... not

Should music only belong to those who can afford $400 12"s? Locking away culture in a used market that gives no money to the original artists at prices no working man can afford is the very antithesis of what the free party scene was all about. Bootleg it, now.

does NOT need to be . typifies some peoples attitude towards music now , the take everything / give nothing mp3 culture and devaluing of music in general .
