Originally Self-Released in 2001, by Colin Meloy, containing only tracks 1-5 (hence the title).

"My Mother Was A Chinese Trapeze Artist" was originally recorded by Colin Meloy's Pre-Decemberists band, Tarkio, appearing on their "Sea Songs for Landlocked Sailors" EP .

Tracks 1-5 committed to 1" tape at Type Foundry in Portland, Oregon, in the winter of 2001. Track 6 was committed to very high tech digital media the following winter at Are You Listening? Studio in Portland.
