1988-90 Purple Capitol label re-issue, the "C1" re-issue series of the US Capitol-released Beatles albums.In 1988, Capitol re-issued the Beatles albums that were originally issued in North America, the first time these albums were issued new catalog #s in the US.
Remnants of the old matrix # SO-1/2-385 is still visible, but scratched out in the run-outs.
This was pressed at Specialty Records Corporation, Los Angeles, one of the plants that Capitol used at the time after they closed their own plants. It's identified in the matrix by a large S with small R and C inside the S. (See photo)
-Back cover now has a barcode and new catalog # in the upper right.
-Capitol logo on the bottom is now the oval-dome logo (not the C logo), along with the EMI box logo, and the copyright text in between them has been changed.
-RIAA emblem has been removed from the front
-Printed on posterboard stock
-LP comes in clear plastic inner sleeve
