Unlike previous Avantaszia, the musical material of "The Scarecrow" is not monolithic, and each track is a completely independent work. This is what allows us to regard the new Avantasia album as a conceptual-album, rather than a full-length continuation of the Metal opera pt.1 and 2. The concept remained the same, but not the story described in the lyrics. "The Scarecrow" does not contain weak / pass-through / ambiguous songs. Each song is good in its own way and fits harmoniously into the overall picture of the album, carrying with itself something of its own. As guest singers on the album were - Roy Kahn excellently performed with his role in the opening song "Twisted Mind", Jorn Lande, as the Devil in the epic "The Scarecrow" and the power-metal tracks "Devil In The Belfry" and " Another Angel Down", Michael Kiske ("The Scarecrow" and "Shelter From The Rain"), Bob Catley (high-speed "Shelter From The Rain" and the ballad "Cry Just A Little"), Oliver Hartmann ("I Do not Believe In Your Love "), and the legendary Alice Cooper in the excellent mid-tempo song "The Toy Master". The success of "The Scarecrow" has exceeded all expectations of its creators and pleased many fans of Edguy and Avantasia.
